My name is Callie van den Berg, and I am an educator from South Africa. I have been teaching for over 9 years, and this is my 4th year at CIS. I currently serve as the Department Head of PE, where I help students build confidence, develop healthy habits, and experience the joy of movement and teamwork.
I completed my Bachelors of Education degree at North-West University (Potchefstroom Campus) in Potchefstroom, South Africa. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about guiding learners not only academically, but also socially and emotionally, because growth happens when students feel supported and motivated.
Outside the classroom I enjoy playing sports and I bring that energy and enthusiasm into everything I do.
I teach because I genuinely believe in the impact of education and because I love seeing young people learn, grow, and become their best selves. Teaching is more than my job, it’s something I care about deeply. I’m here for the kids, for their progress, and for the moments when their confidence shines through.
